It’s New Year’s Eve! You know it’s gonna get crazy! Ring in the New Year with Bootie LA! For this special night, Bootie is taking over the Regent Theater with mashup dancing all night long, and of course will be ringing in the New Year with an epic balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight! Bootie co-creator and DJ Mysterious D flies down from San Francisco to join LA resident DJ ShyBoy, along with special guest Airsun from Bootie SF, as they all throw down the best mashups from the past year, keeping you dancing into the New Year. Resident dance crew R.A.I.D. helps do the countdown to 2017, as well as performing special New Years Eve go-go insanity! Plus, Astro Doves provides acrobatic shenanigans throughout the evening, plus a live video countdown from Zoe & Attik! All this, plus the much-awaited "Best of Bootie 2016" CD -- our annual 80-minute mashup mixtape compilation -- FREE to the first 300 people through the door.

BOOTIE LA
BOOTIE LA
Launched in 2003 by San Francisco DJ duo A Plus D — and held down in Los Angeles since 2005 with resident DJ ShyBoy and dance crew R.A.I.D. (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance) -- Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the then-burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup, and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities. Winning various nightlife awards over the years, Bootie celebrates pop culture both past and present, keeping your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations. Mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party, it's a place where everyone is welcome. And with free mashup CDs given away like candy, Bootie provides the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation.

Shyboy
ShyBoy is a singer/songwriter, producer and DJ/mashup artist. The Huffington Post notes that he "casts a fresh, intelligent spell over the indie pop landscape." BuzzBands.LA says his versatility is "wonderfully dramatic." Sinewy rhythms and bold sonic colors surround his deftly melodic vocals. ShyBoy has had numerous music placements, including ABC's Super Fun Night, CW's America's Next Top Model and the multiplatinum Capcom video game The Devil May Cry 4. He's also remixed tracks for iconic artists such as Donna Summer, Beyoncé and Whitney Houston and collaborated with numerous writers and artists including SlimKid3 of The Pharcyde, RuPaul (RuPaul's Drag Race), Emmy-winning composer Jim Dooley, Grammy-winning songwriter Allee Willis and TV producer Bryan Fuller (Hannibal).
Airsun
R.A.I.D.
Random Acts of Irreverent Dance is a radically inclusive and absurdly ambitious dance project, dreamt up in 2006 during a high blood sugar hallucination by Ramie Becker, or as she likes to call herself, the "Dance Commander"-(we humor her and go along with it, it's just easier that way). Starting out as a guerrilla dance collective that terrorized the likes of downtown LA and Hollywood, RAID soon found a home at BootieLA's weekly mashup club at the Echoplex and The Regent (Bootiela.com). Now, every Saturday, Random Acts of Irreverent Dance RAIDS (get it, get it?) the Echoplex or Regent stage and imposes their bizarre dance sensibilities on an unsuspecting crowd of BootieLA patrons. With the love and support of Bootie founders, Paul V., Adrian and Deidre Roberts, RAID continues to astound, amaze, bewilder, and delight audiences with our irreverent approach to dance-making and our gold spandexed glory. So as soon as Saturday rolls around, you know where to go. Don't fight, just feel it, and come watch us at BootieLA. Submit to the suit....the gold suit, that is.
